At Rumbling Bald, we consider ourselves very lucky to be located in such a beautiful area that boasts gorgeous views, activities, and, most importantly, great people. While our primary purpose is to provide guests and members with facilities and amenities to serve their vacations and lives, we realize that many in our local community are unsure of their opportunities and amenities.
We wanted to clarify the situation and help you better understand the areas of property that are open to the public.
Restaurants
We offer several dining experiences on the property, all open to the public pending off-season closures. You can enjoy a casual lunch or dinner at Legends on the Lake, overlooking Lake Lure, as you wind down from a long day on the golf course, or savor upscale favorites at The Gardens, overlooking the Bald Mountain golf course.
In addition, Eagles Nest at Apple Valley offers quick grab-n-go offerings during your round and a full bar for catching up afterward.
Looking to kickstart your day? Swing by The Bear’s Cup Cafe Bar for a fresh cup of Starbucks® coffee paired with a cinnamon roll or breakfast sandwich.
Golf
One of the most popular aspects of Rumbling Bald is its two championship golf courses, Apple Valley and Bald Mountain. Our courses, each with a Golf Digest 4-star rating, weave throughout the property and provide year-round opportunities for golfers to enjoy playing among the breathtaking mountain and lake views.
We welcome any and all golfers the opportunity to play whether for a couple of rounds on a weekday or weekend or even for some of the tournaments we host throughout the year. Looking to host a group or plan a tournament? We can help!

Spa and Salon
The Salon and Spa, located inside the Wellness Center, is available by appointment for all locals. The Spa offers many treatments to help restore balance to your skin, hair, and body. We offer four private rooms for a complete menu of services, including massage, body treatments, facials, and nail care.
In addition, the professionals at the Salon can help you look and feel your best whether you’re going out for a special occasion, celebrating a wedding or just looking for a new style. A

Please note: Other areas of the Wellness Center, such as the fitness room, indoor pool, and related amenities are for guests and members only.
What about events?
Many times, those in the local community ask if the events we host are open to the public. Most of the time, our events cater to and are specifically for guests and members. However, there are a few that are open to all visitors. If you have a question about an event, please call the front desk and ask 828.694.3015.
