“This past Monday, we held our annual Memorial Day Red, White, and Blue event at Apple Valley. We had 40 players come out and brave the unpredictable weather, and we were able to dodge the rain perfectly! 

Each Memorial Day and Labor Day, we have an exciting event where players have to choose from different sets of tees, and they have to play 6 from each one they choose to make a unique 18-hole round. Players all have their strategy going into the day, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t! Regardless of the results, players get to enjoy a fun way to play a round of golf.”

Festivities Saturday evening quite literally brought the heat! It may have come with a little rain, but not even the weather could extinguish the energy. @hulacarolina lit up the lakefront with a mesmerizing Polynesian hula and fire show that had guests completely captivated from start to finish.

A little rain couldn’t keep the excitement off the water today. The @thecarolinashowskiteam brought the energy, excitement, and unforgettable high-flying action to Lake Lure earlier today as we officially kicked off our Memorial Day Weekend Celebration! From incredible stunts and towering pyramids to moments that had the crowd cheering through the rain, the show was nothing short of spectacular.

A heartfelt thank you to the entire Carolina Show Ski Team for helping make our first large event back on the lake such a memorable one. Your talent and athleticism helped us celebrate this long-awaited moment in the best way possible, with a splash big enough for everyone to remember.

And to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, rain and all, thank you for being part of this incredible comeback season. The lake days we’ve missed are finally returning, and this weekend was just the beginning.

“This year marked the 23rd Annual Ladies Invitational Golf Tournament here at Rumbling Bald, and what a great week it was!

We were proud to host 100 ladies representing 25 different clubs from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Ohio. The event featured a two-person Best Ball format. The competition began on Tuesday with the first round being played at Apple Valley Golf Course and concluded on Wednesday at Bald Mountain Golf Course. The ladies were treated to a putting contest, five meals, a night of live music featuring The Otter Dogs, and 36 holes of golf.

We are incredibly excited to continue growing such a special event here at Rumbling Bald and are already looking forward to next year’s Invitational.

A special congratulations goes out to our Overall Gross Champions, our very own Paige Sheehan and Michele Butler, on an outstanding performance this week!

September 27th, 2024 changed Lake Lure forever.

What followed were 596 days filled with uncertainty, heartbreak, resilience, and an unwavering sense of community. We watched our town face challenge after challenge, leaning on one another to carry the weight when it felt too heavy to bear alone. We lived through the devastation, revisited the memories daily, and held onto hope even in moments when the road ahead felt impossible to see.

Today, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude to say something many once feared we’d never hear again: Lake Lure (and our beach) are officially back open.

The scars of the past will always remain part of our story, but they now stand as reminders of the strength, perseverance, and heart that carried this community forward. Lake days are returning, and our comeback season is finally here.

The last year and a half tested all of us in ways we never expected, but through every setback came moments of light, moments created by people showing up for one another, again and again. Thank you for believing in Rumbling Bald through every season.

Now, as the mountains reflect once more on the water and the sounds of summer begin to return, we look ahead with grateful hearts and renewed hope for the season to come.

Here’s to new memories, familiar traditions, and the return of the lake days we’ve all missed so deeply.

Rumbling Bald resident Patricia Temple successfully swam the shoreline of Lake Lure on Friday, May 8th, for @Swim4LakeLure, and we couldn`t be prouder! This incredible endeavor was to raise funds for Helene recovery and to help promote that Lake Lure is back, the water is clean, and an amazing summer awaits!

Patricia began her journey at 6:30am at the Rumbling Bald Beach and finished her swim at 5:24pm at the same spot. Family and friends, as well as supporters, were there to greet her as she reached land for the first time in nearly 12 hours.

We had an amazing Mother’s Day Brunch at Legends on the Lake over the weekend. The spread featured a biscuit bar, a mimosa station, and a photo booth to ensure not a single memory was forgotten. We hope you all had a wonderful time at the event and look forward to hosting you at the next one!
