Beach Access

Our private beach is open daily from sunrise to sunset and is reserved exclusively for community members and lodging guests. Day passes are not available.

North Shore Beach Cabana

Phased Reopening Underway

With the lake now open to non-motorized traffic, we are beginning a phased return of activity at the North Shore Beach Cabana.

Upcoming Schedule:

  • May 1st–3rd: Non-motorized kayak and paddleboard rentals available from a staffed tent behind the Cabana, 12-6pm
  • May 8th–10th: Continued non-motorized rentals from the tent, 12-6pm
  • We are targeting May 15th to reopen the Cabana building on a normal daily schedule. This would include ice cream, merchandise, and the return of motorized boat rentals, pending approval from the Town of Lake Lure to lift the current no-wake restriction across the lake.

Boat & Slip Reservations
Early reservations are now open for Memorial Day Weekend through the end of October.

  • Trailer Storage: $25/day
  • Temporary Boat Slip: $40/day

Members can reserve through the member app or website, or by calling the North Shore Beach Cabana at 828.694.3019 for availability and details.

Beach Rentals

  • Umbrella & Chair Set: $40 per set (includes 2 chairs and 1 umbrella)
  • Normal member discounts apply. Availability is based on daily inventory.

Scenic Lake Lure Tours (1.25hr cruise)

2026 Pricing: $25 (adult) • $7 (children 5 and under)

Important Guidelines and Policies:

  • The Scenic Lake Cruise is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
  • The Cabana and its offerings are open to members and lodging guests only.
  • 4-16 guests per boat.
  • You may be placed with other groups during your cruise.
  • All guests must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled cruise departure time.
  • All cruises require a minimum of 4 passengers to depart.
  • For any changes or cancellations, please contact the North Shore Beach Cabana at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled reservation. Cancellations within 24 hours of the reservation are non-refundable.

Boat Rentals
Please note our rentals are for members and lodging guests only.

Pontoon Boats (10 passengers)

  • $250 for two hours
  • $460 for four hours
  • $880 for eight hours
  • Dogs are permitted on rental pontoons for a rate of $10 per dog per rental hour.

*Price includes hourly rate and gas only. Tax is not included.

Vessel Rental Agreement and Waiver

Important Guidelines and Policies

  • Any person operating a rental pontoon will be required to complete the Lake Lure Boater Safety Course, per the town ordinance. North Carolina requires anyone born after 1988 to pass the Boater Safety Course prior to operating a vessel.
  • All pontoon boat rentals include life jackets, safety instructions, and a lake map.
  • Pontoon boat rentals are strictly for cruising on the lake. Towing skiers or inner tubes behind the boat is not permitted.
  • All non-motorized rentals must be returned 30 minutes prior to closing.
  • Dogs are permitted on rental pontoons for a rate of $10 per dog per rental hour.
  • No glass or hard liquor is permitted on pontoon boats.
  • For any changes or cancellations, please contact the North Shore Beach Cabana at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled reservation. Cancellations within 24 hours of the reservation are non-refundable.

Kayaks

  • Single Kayaks: $28 (one hour) • $50 (two hours)
  • Tandem Kayaks: $35 (one hour) • $65 (two hours)

Stand-Up Paddle Boards: $28 (one hour) • $50 (two hours)

Accommodates 1 to 2 people.

Swimming

The Beach
No glass or personal bonfires are permitted at the beach. Dogs must be on a leash or under voice command.

Portions of the beach are now open. Please avoid restricted areas.

Trout Stream Pool & Lazy River

For family fun, check out the Trout Stream Pool and Lazy River, with plenty of fun for everyone, especially the kids. Enjoy the sun by the pool, or the shade under the fan-cooled patio. This outdoor recreational venue includes two outdoor pools, the Lazy River, and a concession stand. It’s the perfect venue to bring the family for a day of fun and relaxation all in one spot.

Hours of Operation:

  • Opening Day: Saturday, May 9th from 11am-7pm (weekends only through Saturday, May 23rd)
  • Open 7 days a week beginning Saturday, May 23rd, from 9am-8pm daily

Important Guidelines:

  • Member and Guest passes are required for everyone 12 years of age and up.
  • We do not sell pool memberships or day passes.
  • No lifeguard on duty.
  • Inflatables are not be permitted in the Trout Stream Pool, only PFD’s.
  • Only personal coolers allowed, all coolers and bags are subject to inspection.
  • No outside alcohol or glass.

Apple Valley Pool

This hidden gem is located off Winesap Blvd. near the Apple Valley Golf Course and tends to be quieter and more adult-friendly.

  • No one under the age of 12 years may use the hot tub. Guests 18 and over only in the sauna or steam room.
  • All coolers/bags, etc. are subject to inspection before entering the pool area.

Cast a Line in Lake Lure and Bald Mountain Lake

Fishing

Cast a line in the cool mountain waters of Lake Lure and Bald Mountain Lake. Lake Lure is regularly restocked, giving anglers even more to look forward to throughout the season. You’ll find Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, White Bass, Catfish, Bluegill, and Sunperch. With 27 miles of shoreline and access to the Rocky Broad River, there’s plenty of water to explore, whether you’re heading out for a quiet morning or a full day of fishing.

Guests can also enjoy Bald Mountain Lake, located within Rumbling Bald. This smaller, more relaxed setting features a family-friendly fishing pier and is ideal for children. No fishing license or permit is required at Bald Mountain Lake.

A valid North Carolina fishing license is required for Lake Lure and the Rocky Broad River. Boating permits for Lake Lure are issued by the Town of Lake Lure. Visit their website for the latest details on boating and fishing permits.

Boat launch access and overnight boat storage are available for guests for an additional fee.

Our area offers a wide range of hiking experiences from quiet forest paths to scenic mountain overlooks. Some local trails are still recovering from storm impacts, so access may be limited at times. For the latest updates, feel free to check with our team or review the resources below before heading out. Rumbling Bald Private Trailhead

The Buffalo Creek Park Trail System features roughly five miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Our private trailhead sits at the north end of West Lake Drive and includes picnic tables for a comfortable start or finish to your outing. Box lunches are available through Legends for those planning a longer day on the trails. Directions to the trailhead can be found at the Wellness Center.

Tennis & Pickleball

Our four lit hard-surface courts offer a welcoming place for players of every skill level to enjoy time on the court. Whether you’re trying something new or getting in a few rounds with friends, it’s an easy way to stay active and enjoy the mountain setting.

Rental Pricing:

  • Tennis Racquet: $3 full-day rental (includes balls)
  • Pickleball Wooden Paddle: $4 full-day rental (includes balls)

Reservations are required, and all players should check in at the Wellness Center front desk before heading to the courts.

Seasonal Racket Sport Programs

Looking to get on the courts and meet fellow players? Our Open Social Play sessions offer a relaxed, drop-in experience for members and lodging guests to mix in and enjoy the game.

Courts 1 and 2 are reserved from 8:30-10am, six days a week, for friendly, social play.

  • Tennis: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • Pickleball: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

No sign-up needed. Just show up, rotate in, and play. Please check in at the Wellness Center before heading to the courts.

Additional Information

  • Guests and homeowners are reminded to check in at the Wellness Center and scan in for all court reservations.
  • Normal court reservations remain free of charge and are still available for members and lodging guests.
  • Please visit the Wellness front desk for signups and questions
  • Membership discounts apply to the $10 and $25 fees. However, no additional discount is available for the $15 monthly membership.
