Apple Valley

Designed by noted golf course architect and Pinehurst native Dan Maples, Apple Valley stretches to nearly 6,800 yards and features expansive views of Bald Mountain and the surrounding Lake Lure area. Maples estimated that 75% of all shots at Apple Valley are either level or downhill, virtually unheard for a mountain course.

Bald Mountain

With its varying elevation changes and challenging mix of up and downhill shots, Bald Mountain is a true North Carolina mountain course. The W.B. Lewis designed course clocks in at 6,300 yards and has a unique configuration of 5 par 5’s and 5 par 3’s. Bald Mountain is the ideal complement to Apple Valley offering a decidedly different, yet unforgettable, golf experience.

  • Open daily: 8:30am – 4pm
  • Five sets of tees starting at 3,550 yards.
  • Small greens and narrow tree-lined fairways.
  • The 16th green is home to a scene from “Dirty Dancing”.

    • After 2pm, Juniors play for free when accompanied by an adult.

Group Play

Rumbling Bald is made for golf groups. Choose from a wide range of vacation rentals, from private mountain homes to spacious condominiums and comfortable studios, many with fairway access or sweeping mountain views.

On the course, Bald Mountain golfers can grab fresh Starbucks® coffee and a hearty sandwich at The Bear’s Cup Café Bar. At Apple Valley, the Eagles Nest offers quick grab-and-go beverages, sandwiches, and snacks. After your round, unwind at Legends on the Lake for casual dining on the shores of Lake Lure.

  • 1 Hour Lesson $50. Spend an hour on the tee or at the short game area to sharpen our skills.
  • Playing Lesson $150. Spend two hours of one-on-one instruction out on our Apple Valley Golf Course. Includes Greens Fee.
  • Package of Three $100. Purchase three 30-minute lessons for $100. Spread out your time with Greg or Adam and get some quick, effective tips to get you on your way.
