Lake Lure, NC – Rumbling Bald is installing a new indoor golf simulator, adding a long-requested amenity that strengthens golf operations and creates new opportunities for community members and our lodging guests.
The simulator will be located directly below the Bald Mountain Pro Shop, in the former Member and Residents’ Room, and will primarily serve as an extension of the golf operation. This marks the first indoor simulator experience at Rumbling Bald and reflects feedback consistently shared by members and visiting golf groups.
Once complete, the simulator will support one-on-one instruction, club fitting, controlled practice, small group play, and member-centric events and activities. It will also provide an additional option for lodging guests and golf groups, particularly for evening or after-hours use, or when outdoor conditions limit traditional course play.
In addition to its instructional and performance-focused role, the simulator will include interactive golf-based games designed for younger players. This creates a welcoming environment for families, youth activities, and birthday gatherings, while offering an approachable way to introduce new players to the game of golf.
To support the installation of the simulator, committee meetings, group activities, and small member gatherings previously held in the Member and Residents’ Room have been moved to Pinnacle at Apple Valley. The venue has been converted and refreshed to better serve member-specific meetings and small functions.
This addition complements Rumbling Bald’s existing golf amenities by expanding how the game can be enjoyed year-round, while maintaining dedicated spaces for member engagement and community activities.
