Annual Spring Clean-Up 2023
Monday, March 20, 2023 - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Member Event

March 20th through 31st
Spring clean-up is right around the corner, and we will have the sign-up for this year’s event active beginning Wednesday, February 8th. For those that may be new to the community, this is our first of two clean-ups done each year (Spring and Fall). The purpose of this effort is to remove or reduce tinder and potential fire hazards, such as dead underbrush, fallen debris, and other small yard brush from the property. Leaves are not included in these events, and we remind members that the Town of Lake Lure has a program to pick up bagged leaves. Click here for more information on what the ToLL provides for its residents regarding refuse, recycling, and leaves.
To sign up for this event, click here and follow the below instructions:
- Once you sign in to your Member account, you will be redirected to the Spring Clean-Up reservation page.
- Members with a different mailing address than Rumbling Bald, we ask that you add your local Rumbling Bald address in the reservation comment block just above the green “Create Reservation” button.
- When you make the reservation, it should automatically populate your name, member number, and contact email. If we do not have your email on file, we ask that you provide your preferred contact information i.e. phone or email.
- The reservation is not for a specified day or time. It simply reflects your desire to participate and allows us to plan accordingly.
Members must sign up to take advantage of this service. We ask participants to begin piling their yard debris not earlier than February 20th and place their dead trees, fallen debris, and dead underbrush on a flat surface within ten feet of the primary road for their resident, which is covered by our road maintenance contractor. Using the sign-up list, we will then have a representative go throughout the neighborhoods and haul away the debris. Debris that has been out prior to February 20th, especially those that have been out since December and January, may either be skipped or incur the cost of the removal.
Important Information
For those that wish to remove any trees, live or dead, that exceed three inches in diameter, you must first obtain an ACC work permit. You can contact your ACC area representative to obtain a work permit. To view the list of ACC area representatives click or tap here. Also, please remember that debris must be piled up within 10 feet of the road on a flat surface. In the past, some members were passed over due to having debris piled in their backyard or other areas on their property that were not close to the road. Please be considerate as you participate in this program. The intent is not to overwhelm the contractor with full landscape renovations left for pick up. That is why Rumbling Bald will only cover the first twenty minutes of labor to remove debris with property owners incurring any additional costs for debris requiring more than twenty minutes to remove.
